Purchased from Dennis Lyon for 7,900 in the 1980's, this example is truly exceptional in both design and condition. Puerco pottery refers to  Cibola White Ware, produced in the American Southwest during the Ancestral Puebloan period (roughly 1050-1225 AD). Puerco pottery is characterized by bold solid designs separated by thin parallel lines, often featuring matte black, brown, or reddish-brown pigments on a white to light gray surface. Rare.
