John Gordon Leak, aka John Leekity, (1920-1970) was a Zuni man who peaked in performance of his jewelry and box creations in 1975. He used Zuni inlay designs, creating a black background and used colorful stones to generate his popular figures of dragonflies, knifewings, and arrows. He influenced many artists to follow his style of work, and worked closely with his peers such as Leo Poblano, Frank Vacit, Dan Simplicio, and Teddy Weahkee.
