When George Weight Sr. was born on 17 September 1864, in Honolulu, Oahu, Kingdom of Hawaii, his father, William Weight, was 34 and his mother, Isabella Askew, was 32. He married Amelia Hannah Elizabeth Daniels on 3 March 1887, on Hawaii. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 1 daughter. He lived in Ko'olauloa District, Oahu, Hawaii, in 1900 and Maui, Hawaii, in 1920. He died on 21 March 1936, in Wailuku, Maui, at the age of 71, and was buried in Iao Community Cemetery, Wailuku.
